The show benches were overflowing with entries and lots of people visited the marquee to view the produce on display.  We had lovely feedback from people, some saying  it was the best show ever.  We were again lucky with the weather enabling the events in the park (arranged by The Friends of Woolston Park) to be enjoyed, one of which was the Dog show pictured to the left.

Shirley Edwards won the James Potter Trophy for most points in the flower and vegetable categories for the sixth time running.  It was a very close run contest with very few points between first, second and third but Shirley managed to have her name on the trophy for another year.  All other trophy winners are listed at the bottom of the page, congratulations to them all.  It takes a lot of effort and time to prepare the produce for a show so thank you to everyone who participated and helped to make it such a success.

CHILDREN'S SECTION

Pictured above centre is Harvey Partington, aged 4, after being presented with the shield for best plant grown from seed.  The other pictures are entries in the children’s category which as you can see were all of a very high standard.  This year the age groups were merged and this proved to be very successful by being well supported with lots of lovely entries.  Congratulations Harvey and well done to all the other children who participated.

CONFECTIONERY & PRESERVES SECTION

Pictured above are some of the entries in the confectionery and preserves section which are always popular categories and
this year was no exception.  By request we are adding a category for honey in the 2014 show.
